Flight School Closes, Owner Not Reachable

Sat Feb 17, 2007 9:03 am

In April 2005, James Francis Foley followed a dream to run his own flight school by leasing four airplanes, hiring four instructors and setting up Yellowstone Valley Aviation at Billings Logan International Airport.

During the past three weeks, Foley has shut down the school and apparently left town.

On Feb. 8, Foley failed to appear in Justice Court in Billings for a trial on charges of driving without a license and driving while under the influence.

Unfortunately, this is the way many businesses seem to be ending these days, and not just in aviation  Sad A critical vendor of software that we use at my work closed shop in much the same manner. However, in our case, the original developer of the software was able to regain control of the company (although it took a very costly lawsuit, and as a result, all software licenses took on an immediate 30% increase  Sad ). I kind of wonder why people this irresponsible are setting up shop to do business with the general public  Angry
