Incident On AF CDG-JNB Flight By A TV Presentor!

Tue Feb 20, 2007 5:52 pm

A very popular French TV presentor was the author of an incident on a CDG-JNB flight on Feb 13th . 3 charges have been made against him. In a drunken state, he proved to be very aggressive to the flight crew, made many insults, and even twice the crew has to stop him from getting into the cockpit! Apparently he also insulted other passenger and bit a stewardess so bad that she started to bleed. Still on holidays in SA, he is expected to return this weekend to CDG where the police will be waiting for him so he can explain himself!
Sorry only in French

What a fruit cake! Hard to see how he can continue in his role.

For non-French A.netters, this guy is a very famous and popular TV shows presenter. A few years ago, I flew a ORY-LRT with him on board and hopefully he was quieter !!

I can't read French but this story sounds fishy. Why wasen't he arrested at JNB? Why wasen't the flight diverted so as to get him off the plane?

Apparently the presentor was kept for 9hours by the police as he arrived from JNB yesterday. 3 charges have been retained against him !

According to babelfish, here's the decidedly mangled but still comprehensible English translation of the French article on the incident:

Three complaints for violences and insults were deposited by personnel flying personnel of Air France against Jean-Luc Delarue following "incidents" on a flight Paris-Johannesburg last Tuesday. The organizer will be waited Sunday in Paris by the police officers on his return of holidays. Precise details of Guillaume Biet with Nathalie Chevance did board what occur in the head from Jean-Luc Delarue on board the flight Paris-Johannesburg on last 13 February. Hostesses and stewards of this flight Air France deposited three complaints against the producing organizer of France 2 for violence and insults. In a state of intoxication, Jean-Luc Delarue would have put in danger the safety of the flight because of aggressive and abusive behavior an "against the flight crew and passengers". So aggressive that the crew would have prevented it from returning twice inside the cockpit. It would have also insulted the momentary ones. A steward would have been bitten with the arm to blood. Evoking a "serious incident", precise Air France that the hostesses owed menotter and to attach of force the organizer of television until the landing. Always on holiday in South Africa, it should be waited Sunday by police force on its return in Roissy Charles of Gaulle to be auditioned. The company of production of Jean-Luc Delarue did not wish to make any comment.

He's lucky not to have been on an American airliner. His holidays would've been cut really short.
