Mixed Impressions About American Airlines

Sun Jul 23, 2000 11:18 am

I have just returned from my eighth trip to the States. On almost all my visits I have flown domestic routes with American and a few transatlantic journies. This time I flew with them all the way from the UK to the Pacific Northwest via Chicago. The two domestic flights from Chicago to Seattle and back were excellent. The MD80 was very comfortable. However, although the transatlantic flights were OK, I was really surprised at how shabby their 767's are beginning to look, especially in Business and First. They are also very full. Would they not consider using 777's to the UK like Continental?I must say that the service was good as was their timekeeping. Any suggestions about how American can improve further? Does it fly 777's?

There are no plans to bring 777s to MAN as far as I know.
