US - Africa Expansion

Fri Feb 23, 2007 12:27 am

With DL announcing their new LOS route and making it their fourth on the African Continent, I started to think about other possible growth to Africa.

DL will likely add more routes to Africa because their current ones are doing quite well. Now that DL is starting to get a foot hold in Africa will other carriers possibly follow suit? NW and CO probably won't because of their partnership with DL, but what about AA? MIA is actually closer to the African continent than ATL. Also, would UA possibly hop on and have some flights out of IAD?

IMO, I think that in the next few years we will see rapid growth to Africa by US arilines.
Why fly with 2 engines when you can have 3?

I agree the African Market's will be a goldmine for any U.S. Carrier who dares to enter the U.S.- Africa market.
