Should work for FL though as they will be seen as an alternative to DL & US who have long held a grip ont the market.
Quoting DeltaDAWG (Reply 3):
I could really see them sticking it both DL & US by doing a roundtrip with a couple of a/c:
I would think it could put some serious pressure on both legacies to respond. Just a thought.
Quoting DAL767400ER (Reply 4):
What would be the sense in that? "Just sticking it to Delta and US" or what?
Quoting DeltaDAWG (Reply 6):
DL & US basically have a monopoly in CHS today and have for quite some time
Quoting Quickmover (Reply 9):
You are right about that and you could say the same thing for many east coast cities. Not all of them are as big as CHS, but I think FL has alot of opportunity in cities like CHS. At some point, FL should consider the q400 prop for use in these smaller cities on the eastern seaboard. F9 is going that route for the mountain towns here in Colorado. The east coast, being so densely filled with this type of market, would be a great place for a low cost regional prop subsidiary.
Quoting Richierich (Reply 10):
I find it most interesting that FL pulls out of MYR but then adds CHS, a scant 90 miles down the road. No doubt that Charleston is a city - and a much lovlier one at that- than Myrtle Beach, but what makes them think it will work at CHS when it didn't at MYR? Is MYR much more seasonal (I'm guessing 'yes')?
Quoting DeltaDAWG (Reply 11):
MYR has always been seasonal with FL. I am sure they will start it up again in several months. I believe they typically run 3-4 flights a day into MYR during the spring/summer and fall. However, CHS has a lot more industry, shipping, paper and chemical. There is a business clientele there as well. CHS represents a lot more opportunity and lower fruit to pick in my opinion.
