AA Dallas Connection Question

Fri Feb 23, 2007 6:30 am

It has been years since I have had to connect through DFW on American.

On March 03 I will be flyiing SAN-DFW-FLL. Any idea this early if a change of terminal is required? ( flights in and out of DFW are between 6 & 8 PM).

March 12 FLL-DFW-SJD. Same question. (these flights will be early AM). Anthing special about departures to Mexico?

(To really date myself, my last flight from DFW to Mexico was to ACA on the original Braniff ! )

I have about 2 hours each way for the connections so I don't expect too much of a time crunch if the weather is OK.

Thanks for any advice.

AA flights to and from just about anywhere operate from just about any terminal. Of your routing segments, the only one that's for sure is the DFW-SJD flight, which will operate out of the brand new, beautiful Terminal D because it is international. Beyond that, the SAN-DFW, DFW-FLL, and FLL-DFW flights could and likely will operate from any one of Terminals A, C or D. However, your connection times are more than adequate for connecting at D/FW now that the new SkyLink inter-terminal People Mover system is available. It is fast and easy, and the longest it could possibly take you to get between any two terminals in the entire airport is now under 10 minutes. If you have almost two hours in both directions, you should have absolutely no problems (assuming no major delays, of course). If you have time while at D/FW waiting for the SJD flight, please take a few minutes and just walk around Terminal D -- it really is a world-class facility.

SkyLink has made DFW into one of the easiest airports in the country to have a connection in...longest gate-to-gate time has to be about 15 minutes. Terminal D is quite nice - I was there the month it opened, and it was really impressive.
