There is something about this particular complaint that gets on my nerves. I'm socialist, salaried and all for unionization but to sue over the way a $1000 - $2000 bonus check for profit sharing is paid out is ridiculous.

Pilots sue Northwest, alleging bonus changes
Northwest Airlines' pilots union has sued the bankrupt carrier, alleging that it changed terms of bonus pay programs without consent.
The U.S. Railway Labor Act governing airline-union relations bars unilateral changes to working conditions, Northwest's chapter of the Air Line Pilots Association said in a filing in the airline's bankruptcy case. The union told pilots in a message Friday that it wants Northwest to undo the changes.
Filing a lawsuit moves the union beyond the typical setting for a work-rules dispute, which labor groups usually contest in a grievance process. The union also objected to Northwest's creation of employee groups to improve labor relations at the Eagan, Minnesota-based carrier.
"We are disappointed that the Air Line Pilots Association is opposing the company's efforts to enable our pilots to share in the airline's success and to be recognized and rewarded for providing great customer service," Northwest said in an e-mailed statement Friday.
Northwest, the fifth-largest U.S. airline, is working to leave bankruptcy protection next quarter.
