South Florida - Venezuela

Mon Feb 26, 2007 2:39 am

Hello!
I usually dont start these but... I could not help but notice the plethora of articles (in minor newspapers and wikipedia) that stated that:

Spirit Airlines (NZ) has applied for service FLL-CCS and will start by April
Aeropostal (VH) has applied for VLN-FLL and will start by May
American (AA) has applied for MIA-VLN and will start by April

Do we know how long INAC has been sitting on these? By when can we expect to hear some news about the routes?

Quoting Mia (Thread starter):
Spirit Airlines (NZ) has applied for service FLL-CCS and will start by April

Not yet authorized by INAC (Venezuelan aviation authority)

Accoring to my information VH didn't even apply for it.

There is a MAR-FLL with VH/NK codeshare planned, but still no news on that.

Avior plans PMV-MIA service starting in April twice weekly. I think this is likely to happen as INAC will approve quick.

I don't think they ever applied for it, but they did announce it.

I think this flight could work. With some promotion, good fares, and good service we can see something good.

Avior is planning a daily MIA-CCS flight, though I haven't heard anything as to when they want to start it.

Do have any information about the equipment they will use?? This is good news for sure.

Indeed.

I wonder how will S3 and VH react with new flights. Is good for the customer, though.

I am wondering when CONVIASA will start flying to the United States and what city they will fly to, MIA or FLL.

They have already said Miami and New York City. "When?" is the question they have not answered.

Flights to the US are no more part of the CONVIASA concept.

Exactly, they'll try to focus on domestic flights and non-serve cities. They gave up to their plans to start flights to MAD and South America.

Is this because they couldn't find the WBs available in the market to start such flights?

All these grand plans are likely to saturate a market that is very volatile and will only become more so as it becomes more and more difficult to travle between the US and Venezuela.
