What's wrong with QF anyways? Hasn't there been alot of diversions and planes reurning back to their outbound airport?

Didn't Sydney have some bad weather recently?

It could of been a medical diversion or other factor.

Weather was bad (I flew in from Melbourne on QF458) but we got into SYD on time. Does anyone from QF know?

It looks like it may have been technical

The onward flight MELBOURNE SYDNEY was operated by 737 according to the CRS

Cheers!

The weather was terrible on the 28th of Feb and let me tell you it was insane... Iv never heard/seen aircraft lining up waiting for vacant bays due to flights already on the ground being held up due to the thunderstorms... Qantas operated the QF447 using a B743 just so they could transfer stranded passengers....
With one of the B743 aircraft under going maintenance in Avalon the QF583 was delayed on Thursday 1st of March being operated by an inbound aircraft from Singapore QF032 VH-OJS which didn't arrive until 20:30...Lucky the flight beat the curfew and departed Sydney at 22:40...

No wonder we had late arriving passengers on QF458.

The weather was terrible - coming in from the SW was like flying through a pea soup and somebody was stirring it. The lightning was everywhere and it was difficult.

Luckily, we got into a gate pretty easily. I did hear that the 2000 and 2030 flights from MEL to SYD were completely sold out; some colleagues from my company had been booked on the 1830, missed that, rebooked on the 1930, missed that too and couldn't fly out until 2100.

Just to add to the list a number of the International flights had 2-3 hour delays... QF005,QF001,QF031 and QF003 departing 2030-2100!
