Alpa Lawsuit Against Mesa

Sat Mar 03, 2007 2:24 am

I don't remember this being discussed a few months ago when this story broke, but I found this article and I think this is absoulutely criminal by mesa. Normally I don't always agree with ALPA but I am on their side in this one. Basically, the company violated scheduling rules, then was ordered by a mediator to follow the contract, then refused to do so. And this also comes as the pilots have demanded that mesa improve the operation side and not focus on expansion, expansion, expansion. A great read.

Given all the negatvity about mesa on here, I am surprised that no one has commented on this.

Good for ALPA. If you can't even get a lousy contract enforced, what is the point of having one? If I were a Mesa pilot, I would be upset that my dues had been collected all this time and nothing had been done yet.

Not to mention the fact that you can't jump ship from Mesa for 3 yrs? is it, because of that training contract they make you sign. At least some of America's lowest paid RJ pilots at least have some decent representation.

I had no idea that was the case. Why do otherwise intelligent people continue to go work for Johnny O?

This should be no surprise to anyone. Mesa has taken many a good feeder airline and run it into the ground. I speak personally from the sad experience of the West Air the United Express Carrier. The way they rape and pillage their employee groups to fuel their expansion goals is criminal. Good luck Mesa Pilots I have some great soup kitchen recipes if you need them.
