I'm doing some quick research here.....can someone fill in the gaps on the rest of this TUS airline gate assignment list, and make any corrections if necessary:

A4 (old 23): Southwest
A5 (old 28):
A6 (old 24): Southwest

A8 (old 25): American
A9 (old 26): American

B1 (old 3):
B2 (old 4): Delta/SkyWest
B3 (old 5):
B4 (old 6):
B5:
B6 (old 7): United/United Express
B7 (old 12):

A1: Aerolitoral (Eventually I think. This is supposed to be the new international arrivals area.)
A2 (old 21): Southwest
A3 (old 22): Southwest
A4 (old 23): Southwest
A5 (old 28): Frontier
A6 (old 24): American
A7 (old 27): ExpressJet
A8 (old 25): American
A9 (old 26): (Empty)

B1 (old 3): JetBlue (For now I think. Someone else can fill in where they are going.)
B2 (old 4): Delta/SkyWest
B3 (old 5): Alaska
B4 (old 6): United/United Express
B5 (old 14): United/United Express
B6 (old 7): United/United Express
B7 (old 12): United/United Express
B8 (old 8): Continental
B9 (old 11): Continental/Continental Express
B10 (old 9): USAirways/USAirways Express
B11 (old 10): Northwest

Other notes of mine: I got most of this info from www.airtucson.com and the new map ( http://www.tucsonairport.org/media/TIA_terminal_plan08_2006.pdf ), but that website (airtucson.com) needs to be updated. I think AA only has 2 gates. They had 3 gates years ago, but one of them is now an empty door. ExpressJet is going into either A7 or A9, I don't know which. With them going there, there isn't room left for another gate IMO, so there will always be an empty door, unless XE gets 2 gates. Since they are only flying RJ's, they could fit another gate in, although it won't be used often. I also thought that CO and US shared a gate. Maybe not anymore. Does anyone know if UA uses all of it's gates? They have one A319 and a few RJ's RON.

When did they rename the gates? I flew two weeks ago and they were still the old-style numbers (at least on Terminal A)

A7 and A9 have been empty for the longest time, nice to see someone will use them again. For those (like me) who hadn't heard about ExpressJet, see http://xjet.com . Nice to have some other choices to the LA area!

On a related topic, it's nice to see the updated restaurants and shops in the terminals! TUS is finally looking like a modern airport!

B9 (old 11): Continental/Continental Express
B10 (old 9): USAirways/USAirways Express

Here's the current situation:

A1: Aerolitoral (After completion of Intl. Arrivals/Customs area)
A2 (old 21): Southwest
A3 (old 22): Southwest
A4 (old 23): Southwest
A5 (old 28): Frontier
A6 (old 24): American

A8 (old 25): American
A9 (old 26): (Empty)

B1 (old 3): JetBlue (Will move to gate B9 (Old 11) after construction)
B2 (old 4): Delta/SkyWest
B3 (old 5): Alaska
B4 (old 6): United/United Express
B5 (old 14): United/United Express
B6 (old 7): United/United Express
B7 (old 12): (Empty)
B8 (old 8): Continental / US Airways
B9 (old 11): Continental / Continental Express
B10 (old 9): USAirways / USAirways Express
B11 (old 10): Northwest

Another question is where is Continental going to go when JetBlue moves to B9 (Old 11)?

Also, I just noticed on the TIA Flight Traker that all Frontier flights are leaving from gate 27...can anyone shed some light on this?

Im not sure about now, but at one time AA had only two jetbridges, but had 3-4 parking spots. One jetbridge could swing over for two diffrent parking lines.

I don't understand why B6 has to move, unless DL needs more space. How difficult is it to load/unload both a 757 and a CRJ at the same time at the same gate as it is now?

I guess CO and US would both be relegated to one gate and B1 will be empty. Of course, CO has an ERJ and a 737 RON and a 737 comes and goes as the red-eye to EWR, so the other two will have to be pushed away from the gate. US also has a few RON planes, but they already park some away from the terminal. I think the way the gates are asigned now is better, but what do I know?

I just left TUS yesterday on a DL 757 from Gate 4. The SLC RJ flights were basically using the jet bridge from gate 5, the AS gate. The flights were being handled from the gate 4 desk, but the pax used the gate 5 jetway.

CO has taken over gate 11 permanently. It no longer belongs to NW...they gave it back to the airport. Gate 8 is used by CO...but it is owned by US which also owns 9. Both airlines use gates 8-11 everyday due to high frequency.

The jetbridge at Gate 28 was removed and is being replaced by a new one. Gate 27 has a brand new jetbridge so F9 is using that one temporarily.
