Why No Fare Codes Shown On AA.com Reservations?

Wed Mar 07, 2007 2:21 pm

Hey everyone! I'm getting ready to do the AAdvantage Platinum Challenge, and I'm currently trying to figure out which routing I'm going to do to get the 10,000 elite status miles... I suddenly realized when I went to check routings on aa.com, I can't find the fare codes while pricing trips... Am I just missing them? Or are they just not shown for some reason?

Thanks!

Josh

Just click the detailed fare rules link. It's on the Passenger Details page.

Thanks for the info... But I can't figure out from all that jumbled wording, exactly which fared code i'm being issued.  Sad

Thanks anyway!  Smile

All you need to do is look at the fare basis, and the first letter of it constitutes your "class."

Example:

Fare Basis NR14DNR

Booking code = N

There are some economy fares that allow you to upgrade, and will contain a "UP" in the fare basis.

Fare Basis KUPPMZ

This is a discounted first class seat, that is booked in P or A inventory. Despite being "K" which would only earn one point, since it's an "UP" fare, it's actually P which earns you 1.5 points.

Good luck on your challenge!

We know for you it's not just a seat on a flight to a place. It's a seat on a flight to your life.

Thank you SOOOOOOO much.. I figured it might have been the first letter of the code, but I didn't want to chance it, and end up with a non-elite qualifying fare.
