Al Khayala - New All-Business Class Carrier

Wed Mar 07, 2007 3:55 pm

This new carrier has just commenced operations between Riyadh/Jeddah and Dubai. Anyone know much about them? I.e. their fleet and network strategy?

Operating up to twice daily into DXB from JED and RUH.
So far I've seen F-OHJX and F-OHJY:

They're not a new airline. They've been operating since July 2005.

They fly:

JED-RUH 18 a week : x45 d , x4
JED-DXB 5 a week: x14
RUH-DXB 5 a week: x14
JED-DMM 6 a week: x4

From their website, www.al-khayala.com , I tried booking online. I got a quote DXB-JED return for 4450AED.

Part of National Air Service.

But also part of National Air Service is no-frill, low-cost carrier NAS AIR- on the SAME route...
So how does this "inhouse" competition work out? NAS AIR vs. flySAMA and Al Khayala vs. SAUDI?
