Who Flies Foreign Airliners?

I am curious-for airlines like PIA or EK, do the majority of the pilots come from that country or are they foreign contractors?

Quoting Cityguy (Thread starter):

Most of PK's pilots are Pakistanis, but a vast majority of EK's pilots are foreigners (in fact, IIRC, 70% of QR's pilots aren't Qatari)...they aren't "foreign contracted"...those pilots move to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, etc.

The titler of this thread is a bit misleading, but it is a question I am interested in.

I know the likes of CX have UK based crew, as they have an outstanding advertb for B747 crew in Flight, but I was wondering too, and if so, do the pilots have to be registered in Hong Kong, or the UK. The rules, for vision at least, are quite different in both countries, if the CX crews are Hing Kong registered, I would be interested in registering abroad, and flying out of the UK, when I finally leave school

I met a nice Canadian pilot flying for Etihad at the Airport Hotel Pub in Manchester last month.
