QF2 LHR SYD - Why Different On Diff Days?

Mon Mar 12, 2007 5:22 am

Was just curious if the boys at QF or anyone else could help me out.

I was looking at the QF timetable and noticed on that on Tues, Thurs and Sat's QF's flight 2 from LHR to SYD gets in 35 minutes earlier than every other day of the week even though it leaves at the same time on all 7 days!

I'm just guessing here, but I would imagine that QF2 arrives 35 minutes earlier in SYD (compared with other days) due to a shorter stopover time in Bangkok.

Cheers

i'd guess its that on those days the offical landing slots they have purchased at LHR are 35 minutes earlier, so "offically" the flight arrives earlier, even if in fact it does not?

Might well be true, in which case they should be heavily penalised if flights regularly arrive 35 minutes late!

That's it. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, it will depart BKK at 17:35, while on the other days, it will depart at 18:10. That is for the Summer season, at the moment, the times are the same 7 days a week.

QF2 is LHR-SYD, so it doesn't matter what time their LHR arrival slots are.
