Tue Mar 13, 2007 1:33 pm

Just seen on One News that QF could be forced off all NZ domestic/Tasman/Pacific routes under new laws cause of the take over bid.

Will post a link when found

Consider the share price for QF dropped yesterday on speculation that the deal will not go ahead, this is a further nail in the coffin. With all the argy bargy and carry on, one would think APA will have to pull out of the deal. The is would leave McBank with egg all over its face...(hahahaha evil laugh)

Well, with QF in private ownership and a decent return on asset (an expensive one at that) at the top of the list, do you really think QF will be maintaining their loss making NZ operation?

I have always wondered why QF keeps the NZ domestic operations? Isn't it better for them to pull out and use the planes somewhere else that may earn more money?

Seems like all angles are being used to stop the sale.

This is also on the ABC website, nothing like a bit of inflamatory union goading to get the debate into tabloid territory.

Oops, did not notice a thread on this already started.

I think it is Jetstar issue not a QF issue.

Qantas general counsel Brett Johnson said yesterday that if the Qantas Sale (Keep Jetstar Australia) Amendment Bill, designed to protect the company's subsidiary Jetstar from foreign takeover, was passed the airline would have to stop Jetstar operations in New Zealand and the Pacific.
