What???? Come on.... Abu Dhabi and Doha are definitely not the best airports..... NO WAY!!!!! I have travelled through AUH and DOH many times in the last 2-3 years and they are in NO WAY better than DXB or even BAH... or heck even BEY. Come on...... there is something wrong with this picture... wayyyyyyy wrong!!!!

Way to go BRU!
They're ranked quite well in various categories... I remember 2 years ago they were still voted the best in Europe.
I love my Airport Job! :)

Good to see my hometown airport, Adelaide making it into the list. Did not expect it to be that high on the list though.

That is sooo coooool to see DTW up on that list.

It wasn't that long ago that we were on the other end of those stats....come 2008 we should top them all!

i do not agree with abu dhabi as the best airport, last time i was in abu dhabi, it was hard to see the person standing next to you, because of all the cigaratte smoke, people smoke everywhere, it was like you are standing inside the smoking rooms, without any ventilation

Can't disagree with KUL ... One of the nicest airports I've had the normally dubious pleasure of being stuck in :p

Halifax has come a long way in the last few years. I remember when it was nothing more than a dump. Great improvement.

I'm somewhat surprised AMS isn't on the list. One of my favourites in Europe, and I've seen many.

I find these rankings highly incredulous ... I mean DOH displacing established airports like DXB off the list when the former doesn't even possess airbridges for boarding ? I am not saying DOH is a third-rate airport, but when it comes to rankings like these, there must be a certain sense of discrimination and consistency with other renowned ranking standards.

And AMS missing from the list of World's Best Airports? Well, everyone has their own opinions to assert, but there just isn't any convincing consistency between some of these rankings and other previously published ranking standards.

Just adding the impetus to the fact that these ranking standards are to be taken with a SACK of salt. :-P

Indigestion.
I can't believe DFW beat out DEN or DTW. Did AA slip someone on the voting committee a couple of free drink coupons or something? Know you all don't give a hoot, but I can think of 10 airports right now that are superior to DFW!

And I totally don't understand why SAN is in there, sure, an airport right in the middle of major American city is a nice feature, but!....PDX is much nicer in that category.

Although I've never had to deal with DFW security It's really easy to get around DFW and that's why I like it.

DTW is certainly going to be up there this time next year where the North Terminal should be in operations

How the hell did DFW get there? It's a pit and a royal pain in the ass to change planes in (okay not as bad as some airports, but I've seen better)

AMS deserves a better ranking. Where's Kansai?

Out of curiosity have any of you been to DFW in the last 10-12 months? DFW is not what it was even a year ago. They have made sooooo many improvements to that airport to the point where its now my favorite airport to change planes it. Its nice, theyve cleaned it up, skylink is a dream and the international terminal is amazing. I can honestly say DFW is one of the easiest airports to go to/through now. SOOOO much better than ATL, ORD or my beloved LAX.

IAH is also a great airport. Texas must be doing somthing right.
It is what it is...

Nothing against the city of Dallas, but I'm really surprised DFW is up there. I think its a great airport if Dallas is your final destination, but it has to be one of my least favorite airports to connect in.

Well I am in Dallas at least thrice a month, and occasionally fly into DFW, (though I usually hop aboard one of COEX's ERJs into DAL). Frankly, I have had many bad experiences at DFW, but those events admittedly were years ago. Still I can not see how DFW ranked so high (and no I am not suggesting that IAH had made the list. Frankly with those banjo gates at B from the airport's original 60s era design, probably hurt IAH's efforts in these rankings).

Congratulations on my hometown ADL to get ranked No# 2 in the 5-15mil pax. Hopefully we can gain No# 1 position next time!

I will be flying out of ADL to SYD in one months time (exactly) and can't wait to go through the airport which feels so spacious. Oh, and I will be posting a trip report for the trip!

Once again congratulations ADL!

DFW is not only owned by Dallas, but by Fort Worth, too.  Wow!

I do want to point out that this was a customer service award for DFW, and all those other airports. It has nothing to do with any airline, just the customer service functions the airports provide, like parking, ground transportation services, concessions, train service between terminals, and a few other functions.

On what did they base their choices? I thought Beijing Capital was a dump. Unless they are judging based on how fast the ground crew unloads the luggage...

All things aside DFW has made various improvements over the past year or so.
Better FID's, Skylink, more Ambassadors, better signage, and numerous terminal renovations.

I wonder if they are taking intl and domestic connection times into account.

I am suprised to see the new NGO in there. I was expecting to see HND in there since they have such a large variety of stores, and are able to transfer that many people annually. I wonder if the 4th rwy at HND is built, and it becomes int'l again, we'll see it on the list?

Let me check how credible this ranking is: is CDG last in all relevant categories? For if it isn't, then this study is not objective.

If you read the press release, these are "best airports" for "customer service" whatever that means. It is possible to have terrible overcrowded facilities and good customer service. Actually services provided by the airport as opposed to the airlines are rather limited. Perhaps they had a well run taxi stand, bus drivers and parking lot attendants. Maybe they whipped the retail vendors into shape.

Good to see Helsinki is still going strong, no3 both both in Europe and globally among aiports with 5-15 milj passenges.
Only thing is that the traffic is growing all the time and it still takes two years before they get new space there...

Brussels second best airport in Europe? Now that's a joke! I am a Belgian living in the States, and fly there quite often. Definitely not my favorite airport!! Should not even be in the top 5. And what happened to AMS, often listed by A.netters as a great airport? Can we really trust this ranking?

I wonder what the top 10 list looks like for airports in the 5 mil-15mil category... I see that no US airports made the top 5 list. Does anyone have the top 5 list for USA markets in this category?

Im Glad LAX JFK ORD EWR arent on there, they'd have to have been out of their minds to consider those good. I personaly think ONT is a great airport, but not big enough to merit any awards though. Incheon is definatly a great airport though, having had the privilage to fly there once.

I have been always wondering why I never see Oslo ranked... it´s modern, stylish, well connected to the city. Do they have problems with the service then?
And what happened to CPH this time?

I have to agree, I went through DFW during the Ice Storm in January, even though my connection to LBB was cancelled and I had to fly to MAF.. riding the new train around was so much more convenient! Plus the new arrival/departure monitors were easy to read. Looking for DTW to be #1 in a few years though!

I am guessing nobody doing the ranking travelled through SAN's terminal one. Not horrible, but not anything other than "adequate" or "average".

Terminal two is quite nice (at least T2 West), but for sheer convenience, nothing beats the commuter terminal! I am still hoping that is where ExpressJet is planning to operate from.

I am a bit sorry not to see Providence airport on the list - it is quite similiar in design to Austin's airport.

I am surprized by DFW. except for the new terminal D the airport is kind of run down. Last time I was there I was unimpressed with the rest of the facility. Terminal D was amazing but that isn't most of the airport like DTW. I don't know I thing DEN should have been much higher on the list but I probably don't know everything
