First Spirit A320s

Fri Mar 16, 2007 11:57 pm

Aviation Letter is showing that 3 A321s were converted to A320s. Although larger orders usually have provisions for changing models down the road, this is the first I've heard of this. Anyone with more info ?
My definition of cool ? Not trying so hard to be cool.

G´day

Are you saying that they removed fuselage barrel sections to convert A 321´s to A 320´ies? This must be the first A 320 with next to wing as opposed to overwing exits. Did they keep the double slotted flaps on the conversion? What is the MTOW going to be?  bigthumbsup

I too look forward to be enlighted.

Cheers

I think that three orders for A321's were switched to become 3A320's. It would require a Supplemental
Type revision in the certification if they were to remove fuselage frames in order to make the
aircraft A320s from A321 frames and Airbus has more important things on their plate
to handle right now.
