Boeing 767-300 does not have individual video screen at each seat. Nowadays, there are only the B-777 and AIRBUS 340-300 that have individual screen configuration.
You can call American Airlines 1-800-443-7300 to select your preferred seat a month before your departure day.
According to my experience, ask them for the seat at one of the following rows : B, C, E, F ... for they are the most comfortable rows for the long routing.
Where will you fly to and from where ? Have a good flight.

I don't see why the 767 would be particularly uncomfortable for a 10 hour 50 minute flight. Although, I yesterday flew on a 767-300 and I must say it is very noisy inside, at least compared to the MD-11. But then again, any plane is pretty noisy inside compared to the MD-11.

MD11: It is up to any airline to decide if they want to have individual video screens or not, no matter what type of a plane it is. A 767 may well have individual screens if an airline desires so.

I think the aisle or window seats are the most comfortable. I was pretty uncomfortable on an American 727-223. I had to sit between two passengers with the armrest space taken. But on another 727-223 flight I had a window seat and I was really comfortable. I would also avoid the engine areas. When I flew on a Northwest DC-9 I was right near the engine. I could not hear anything but the roar of the engines.

Take a window or aisle seat next to the window...It should be a pretty comfortable flight though, 2-3-2 is nice. If you can get an exit row, though it will be over the wing, you may still have a pretty nice view and you'll have a little extra leg room to boot! Though they may not assign emerg exits over the phone that may have to wait until airport checkin, in which case you risk loosing that seat to someone else

I doubt that American has tv's on each seat. I've flown American 767-323ER from MIA to LIM, and didn't have any PTVs.

P.S. UAL does have PTVs in all classes on the 767

I've been on the 767-300ER quite a few times, it's quite comfortable. American has been refurbishing them with new seats, the interiors now look real good. You'll definitely like it. As for seat assignments, what I do each time is book through Eaasy Sabre so that I get to see the map of the plane and choose my seat. I can see which seats are still available. I always try to get a window.

Have a nice trip.

I once flew a 767-300 from London to Bahrain and the flight was quite comfortable. I do not remember the flight being particularly noisy. No TV sets on backs of seats. Yeah, an aisle seat would make is easier to get up and walk around and go to the loo, etc. Being smaller than an 747 or an MD-11, a 767 will pitch and roll more during turbulence. The good part is , even if you are in the middle row, you are just one seat away from the aisle.
