Dreamlifter In Shannon, Ireland Right Now

Thu Mar 22, 2007 8:46 pm

Hi all,
The Dreamlifter is in Shannon today and it will be leaving around 4 PM GMT so anyone out there in Shannon try and get some pics. It's flying back to CHS this afternoon.

Why was it in Shannon? Tech stop?

I forget...what section is built in Italy?

Can't wait to see the assembled pieces of Alenia and Vought!

Mid fuselage sections 44 and 46. It'll attached to sections 43 and 11/45 that were built in Japan and then the whole central fuselage section is shipped in the LCF from CHS to Everett.

Damn it, I won't be able to get out there today......

Will this be a regular tech stop, and if so, how regular?

Not sure if it's going to a regular tech stop. I guess it depends on en route conditions at the time since the mass of the parts being ferried is a known factor.

Well there you go. It sounds like Shannon spotters will be getting regular glimpses of the LCF. I saw the AN-225 when I stopped over in Shannon and man that thing is HUGE!!!!!!
