Canadian North Fire At Iqaluit

Fri Mar 23, 2007 12:01 pm

Not sure if it's been posted, but I did do a search and it didn't show anything.

I was just randomly looking through some stuff, and came across this. Sorry it's a little old.

YELLOWKNIFE . . . Canadian North has moved quickly to minimize the impact to its cargo customers in Iqaluit after a fire on Saturday, March 10, destroyed the Canadian North cargo warehouse in Iqaluit, Nunavut.

The fire, which was discovered at approximately 05:20 am on Saturday, March 10, destroyed the Canadian North cargo warehouse and damaged an adjacent equipment storage area. Thankfully, there were no injuries as both buildings were empty at the time.

Yeah it was a big fire here. I remember the first air hanger fire that was huge. I am surprised that the terminal didn't suffer any damage that cargo hanger is right next to the main building.
