The video report is misleading. The construction on the terminal never stalled progress on the terminal. It only stalled construction in that one area. Construction on the rest of the terminal went on as schedule. Thats the reason the terminal is expected to be completed on time.

What I want to know is, just how feasible is it to expect that five gates can be serviced at the end of one of the terminal wing? Take a look at this rendering:

http://www.newindianapolisairport.com/galleries/renderings/ext2.htm

One of the terminals in PHX (Sky Harbor) has several gates at the end of its terminal wings. It is madness when two or more HP flights arrive or are departing from those gates. Too many people, too little space. I dunno, maybe the end of this terminal wing is much more spacious.

Love the Pan Am 727s in the background tho!

The new IND terminal will be 100ft wide in each concourse. Therefore, the new IND concourses wont be much wider I don't think. Another interesting fact is that the two and only two international gates in the new terminal will be able to accomidate the A380! I wonder if the A380 passenger version will ever make it there? This whole new terminal at IND is not looking to shabby...

The SAS mad dog is a nice touch too, as are the 744s.

The concourses will be 110 feet wide. I believe the old terminal is in the area of 70 feet wide. It will be significantly wider. The end of the current C concourse is approximately 110 feet wide at its widest point but the entire end area will have less square footage because of its seven sided design than the end of a concourse in the new facility. Also about 1/4th of the space at the end of the current C concourse is eaten up by retail space which isn't listed in the plan for the new terminal. The end of the C concourse has 6 gates while the end of the new concourse will have only 5. It will have one less gate and likely twice the space. The A concourse that NW uses is narrow. It is approximately 70 feet wide (+/- 5 feet). The end of it has 8 gates (4 jet bridges). NW parks two jets at one bridge. That place can be packed. But in the new terminal they'd have 50% more room and likley wouldn't be parking 2 jets at one bridge.

Edit: I went and looked at the stats page and the concourse width doesn't match the executive summary which lists it as 110 feet. Also I was told by a member of the airport authority that the terminal would have 3 international gates and not two. So something is off but not sure which numbers.
