Lufthansa Delays In California

Tue Mar 27, 2007 11:31 am

Lufthansa has experienced some delays at both SFO and LAX today concerning their flights from Munich. SFO is delayed by over 5 hours and the LAX flight had a stop in Vegas before reaching LA. Both routes have just been recently upgraded to the new 3 class A340-600s. Might the delays be caused by technical glitches and poor fleet scheduling for the new season?

As someone said in the other thread, the diverson to LAS was because of a poorly timed heart attack. And, well, the SFO flight is departing from SFO, and SFO is foggy about this time of year.

So, nature is basically screwing Californian flights up (both weather and health).

To be honest, I have no idea why the SFO-MUC flight was delayed.

I don't know about ops at SFO today, but yesterday (Sunday) there were delays of 1 or 2 hours due to low clouds.

There were storms moving through Northern California today with wind gusts up to 35 or 40 mph.

Just curious as to the schedule of LH's service from Munich to LAX. So does this mean that the A343 is replaced by the A346 for some time to come?
Thanks

Probably permanently. Lufthansa is very strong out of LAX both with O&D and traffic connecting over Germany, particularly to the Middle East.

Dunno about the winter schedule (it's still in the making), but for this Summer MUC-LAX got upgraded to a 34D (A340-600 with 3 class layout).

LOL. Right, most heart attacks are "well timed" and occur while the "pax" is on the hospital operating table surrounded by five doctors and 2 nurses.
