Super Tugs!

Fri Jul 28, 2000 8:15 am

Do the Super Tugs (the ones which "cradle" the front gear) work for all large commercial aircraft, or just those smaller than a 747/MD-11?

Also, would the Super Tug work for the Global Express/CRJ/ERJ, or are the noses and front gear too low to the ground?

Thanks!

This type is utilized on all Commercial aircraft form the Beach 1900 to the 747.

They are almost never seen here in the states. Mostly in Europe.

At Manchester, UK, they have almost compeletely upgraded to the new supertugs and I've seen them attatched to a lot of different aircraft types, though nothing smaller than a 737-200.

Delta Airlines in Atlanta has three super tugs to date. That is one hell of a machine........
