Very cool. I'm sure they'll take the option too soon. Wonder how many seats a charter version will have? Does Travel service offer 1st-class in there aircraft? If not, I wonder What max seating is in the 747-8i...

Very interesting! It's good to see another airline ordering Dreamliner. Also, it is not much of a surprise, because Travel Service already uses their 738s for some longer flights with some technical stops, so buying a long-haul airliner seems like a logical step.

I don't think so. I seriously doubt they will even take delivery of the one they supposedly ordered. I'll believe when I see it landing in PRG in QS' (hideous) livery - before that anything is possible. There's been talk and rumors about getting a 767 for years and they remained just that. Rumors.
Travel Service is a sick joke of a charter airline with very "specific" business practices, (in)famous for their mega-delays. During the high season we frequently get news about their pax being stuck in the middle of nowhere in Tunisia waiting 12 hours for delayed TVS flight.
Not to mention its even more pathetic offshoot called Smart Wings.

I expect them to continue their "narrowbody torture" product, hauling pax to Bangkok, Jamaica or Venezuela for many years to come...

How does an airline schedule a 787 service with just one aircraft? It must be able to return to the original destination by the end of the day with sufficient time to be serviced for the next day. That would limit where they can fly this plane.

Er, whats the point on buying one aircraft! One aircraft airlines tend not to last very long, they should buy a few second hand 767s first.

They've been around for more than a decade and have already 5 or so 738s. Despite their horrible customer service they are generating quite decent profit. To be fair, their management sure knows how to make money and is able to find all kinds of "strange" contracts, e.g. they've been wet leasing the 738s to Brazil, Malaysia. Some of their aircraft almost regularly spend winter flying for Oman Air, etc...

I'm sure that 787 won't be on the open market very long if TravelService folds.

They have 6 737-800s, you are right they are doing something right whether it be grueling 737 service to the tropical destinations or leasing out their aircraft to airlines such as Malaysian, Oman Air and PLUNA.  checkmark

So in 2009, 2 737-900/ERs will be joining the fleet  cheerful

@L410Turbolet, despite having no "long haul" aircraft they maintain "long distance flights" with service to Bangkok, Fortaleza, Mombasa and Zanzibar, previously servicing Phuket too.
