BA Load Info Please

Wed Mar 28, 2007 7:37 pm

I am travelling non-rev on a ZED ticket from ATH-LHR-LAX on May 4th. Does anyone here have access to loads for that day ? I would appreciate any help. Mahalo, Pualani

The loads are not high, and date is over a month away. Bon Voyages!

Hi Pualani, feel free to ask me closer the date as it is far too early to give you a good indication as to whether you will make the flights...but at this stage, it looks fine, with 50+ seats in Economy on the 1st and 3rd daily flight from ATH on May4, and 50+ on all LAX flights for the same day...FYI, the 1st and 3rd daily ATH-LHR is operated by a 767, the 2nd daily is an A320.

I've only operated this service once; generally full both ways to NAS, and good loads in Club on NAS-GCM-NAS, with Traveller being fairly empty; perhaps someone else could shed light on the average loads for this route...bear in mind the route was moved up from LGW, which is generally a good sign - BA like to have their premium routes at LHR...

Could it be that the route is operated by 767, which is LHR based?

Perhaps it got too expensive busing-up LGW crews to operate NAS services from LHR?

Well we use to get the Dc-10 and then the 777 but i presume that the 777 was a bit too big for the route so the 767 was put on instead.
Just out of interest when BA make there new fleet order and if its the 787 i presume we will get the 787 in but if they order the A350 which is pretty much bigger, will we still see BA in GCM?

i highly doubted BA ordering there new fleet from Airbus but with them now waiting for the specs of it then it seems that there still not sure!! (cheering for Boeing tho!!)

Try www.seatcounter.com for loads. It may not be real-time, but gives you an idea.

Nowhere!

What it appears you are really looking for is Availability!

Capacity - Bookings = Availability.

Yes, IIRC it is a 6 weekly service with continuing service to Grand Cayman (GCM) and Provodenciales (PLS). It was previously a Boeing 777 service, but now the 767s in the "Dusk" configuration (F0 J24 W24 M141) fly the route. Nassau also once was the stopping point a few years back for the SJO service from LGW.

Until March 19, 2007 Competitor Virgin Atlantic operated a Tuesday 744 service from LGW. Too bad they ended it because they lost alot of contracts as one of the main strips in NAS (Cable Beach) undergoes a multi-billion dollar redevelopment

Most likely, considering in this scenario that the 787s would supplant and eventually succeed the 767s

Cheers,
Devan from NAS
