Nice livery, thanks for posting it. The URL in faded grey under Ocean Air is a classy way of advertising it, rather then splashing it on the side. I went to their site and they had a similar photo on the main page, couldn't find any others though.

But they're having a fair sale of R1.00!

I wish them luck, I may end up on this A/C from GIG to LAD.

I just got this info from a friend, very nice livery indeed!!! The green gives the livery a bit more beauty compared to AV in my opinion. Nice nice  Smile

Is Ocean Air a part of AV? Their scheme is nearly identical to AV's.

Any word on when they will start their flight to LAX?

I really like this livery.  thumbsup

But where is it going to fly? Domestic? I couldn't find any international destinations from the booking list.

Both Ocean Air and Avianca belong to the same owner.

Good luck OceanAir, I had the privilage to fly on its F100 from SSA to FOR last August and enjoyed it a lot!

Oceanair and AV are part of the same company (group). Oceanair will use the 767 to start flights to Africa from Brazil (Lagos & Luanda?). I have not heard of Oceanair starting flights to LAX but please correct me here.

They certainly have a very nice livery, great color scheme. I wonder who came up with it? There is more than one US carrier I can think of who could use this type of immaginitive thinking.

Thanks for the information A388! I apreciate it.
Ocean Air was awarded the GRU-LAX-GRU routing after RG disappeared. Now Tam is also interested in LAX.

You're welcome LACA773. I think our Brazilian members such as LipeGIG can give much more details than I can. When it comes to Brazilian aviation our Brazilian members are my teachers Big grin

The funny thing about the LAD service is the fact that the Angolan Aviation Agency stated that they know nothing about it, even though it has been mentioned several times by Oceanair. If you want to read about it: http://www.angonoticias.com/full_headlines.php?id=13885 (Portuguese).

Avianca (Colombia), OceanAir (Brazil) and VIP (Ecuador) all share the same livery. These airlines belong to Synergy Aerospace lead by Brazilian German Efromovich.

It has been said that a certain point they will all become a single airline but that will take some time.

We are here also learning a lot my friend A388! It's always a pleasure to be part of A.Net !

Ok let's talk about Ocean Air.

Ocean Air is part of Synergy group owned by a rich guy named German Eframovich, born in Bolivia now Brazilian. This guy made a lot of money building 2 oil rigs for Petrobras, the Brazilian oil giant. Due to some clauses on the agreement he was able to claim additional closer to US$ 200 million from Petrobras a couple years ago and with the money earned, he begin some oil research business (Maritima), sub-lease some shipyard areas in Rio (Maritima Also) and begin looking for the air industry, first just to allow their employees to fly from Rio (where most of them lives) to Macae (where Petrobras and other operators and providers like ENI, Shell, Chevron, Exxon, Halliburton, Total, BP, Pirelli and hundred others keep their operational bases to take care of the 1.4 million barrels a day that "Bacia de Campos" produces for Brazil) with some E120 Brasilia. At this moment Ocean Air was created (with different liveries, some orange, some red, some yellow...).
During the following 3 years it begin to improve network, added some F50 planes and expand services, always with high quality ! Three years ago (IIRC), he bought Avianca and begin a major plan to create a top tier airline in South America, and the rest of the history i believe everyone knows.

Now Ocean Air flies with 14 F100, will run their first Boeing 767-300ER between first route GRU-REC-LOS (if nothing changes) and in the near future a LAD route (be in mind that Ocean Air crew is not able to run ETOPS flights during the some time (next 6 months ?) ). MEX is on their plans as well as LAD/BOG.
