Nwa707 Msp-gtf Today

Mon Apr 02, 2007 4:45 am

Out spotting today at msp and had an interesting landing. NWA 707 (a319)lost steering on the front wheels in flight (hydraulics??) and turned around and went back to msp Firetrucks and everything on landing and closed 12r/30l briefly waiting for a tug to the gate at 1230.
Wierd thing it was almost to bil. (of course it went back for maintance)
The flight was cancelled, my question do these people have to wait for the next flight at 911PM?
Also is this something that can happen in flight or did they probably know right after take off and trouble shoot in air for this?
Info appreciated thanks Jeremy

I found a little more information on the flight which is posted in a entry on my MSP Update Blog.

Quoting GEG2RAP (Thread starter):

Some passengers may be put on tonight's flight (looks like there are seats still open) while others may be put on other airlines.

I am guessing that the problem didn't develop until later in the flight. If they had a warning of a hydraulics problem just after takeoff I would think they would divert back to MSP right away.

Wow, that sounds crazy. I wonder if anyone I know from GTF was on board!
Good goes around!

The title of this thread through me for a loop, I thought it was referencing an actual NW 707, which would be even more perplexing. Perhaps if it were titled "NWA FL#707 Msp-gtf Today"

And it must have thrown you into another loop wasting your time adding your useless input in this thread. I guess there has to be a "smart" one everywhere.
