Does anyone knows if this is a bigger deal than they had before? Will they be carrying more mail or was this a renewal deal???

Us rampers aren't happy. Just last week management told us how we lost our a@# handling domestic mail. We were getting as little as $.07 a pound after all the stupid fines and such. Now they sign this new deal. The 400 million isn't even guaranteed.

It's interesting to see UA going after mail now. It is such a restrictive contract that can get them fined beyond belief. So many airlines have just given up transporting mail. Maybe UA will benefit from the extra revenue.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

For all the delays that are taken to load mail, for all the fines, for all the manpower it takes to load mail... it isn't worth it for the tiny amount of revenue that comes in. Cargo, on the other hand, is hugely profitable. Ditch the mail and expand cargo ops...

Sad Bad for Rampers, Good for Profitability!  Smile

That would be one heck of a deal to get signed for an airline. Talk about the Money!  drool

Cheers
