Second AI Emergency Landing For April 9!

Mon Apr 09, 2007 7:17 pm

Ok so my earlier thread is about the first one... Right now flashing on the tv, AI 736 DXB to DEL made an emergency landing in DEL due to a technical snag.

Its apparantly the leased 763, probably G-CDPT

"New Delhi: Hours after an Air India aircraft got its nose-wheels bogged down on ground at the IGI Airport in New Delhi, a second emergency landing has taken place.

An Air India flight from Dubai to Delhi carrying 200 passengers had to make an emergency landing at 1525 hrs, IST after it faced a problem with its landing gear.

The Dubai-Delhi flight, AI-736, landed amid emergency conditions with the pilot of the Boeing-767 informing the air traffic control about a hydraulic problem in the aircraft.

On Monday morning the runway at the Indira Gandhi International Airport was blocked after Air India's Bangkok-Delhi flight developed a technical snag. "

The flyglobespan 767 usually operates AI 130/131 BOM-LHR-BOM and since it was -

AI 736 DXB to DEL

my guess is that it's the other leased 767 from Euroatlantic CS-TLQ.

Also AI 130 is scheduled to arrive on time into LHR meaning if it is G-CDPT operating this flight it is unlikely to have been the one involved.

I think you're right. When CS-TLQ arrived in BOM in late February, she had an hydraulic problem on a main landing gear. The aircraft stayed in the hangar for 1 week, leaning on the side.

It seems today it was a hydraulic problem on the MLG... sounds like the same aircraft, no ?  Smile
