Ariana's 752's And 73G Slot Available?

Thu Apr 12, 2007 6:45 pm

The imminent demise of Afghan Ariana Airlines will mean that their two 757's, which have been parked in Europe for months, will soon be available. Boeing Capital is the owner, does anyone know if someone has an agreement in place to take them over? What powerplants do they have?

They also had 4 737-700's ordered with delivery in 2009. Is this an asset that another airline could purchase?

Seems like a great solution for Continental for example.

Both aircraft are operated by French charter carrier Eagle Aviation and they were supposed to wet-leased the aircraft to Ariana. One of them actually made it to Dubai and I think even operated some flights for Ariana but they are now both back in Europe doing ACMI and charter work.
