virgin Atlantic livery change.

Mon Mar 01, 1999 5:57 am

The BBC is reporting that Virgin Atlantic will ditch the red and white Livery for a silver airline body emblazoned with the Virgin logo. The new livery will also use the red, white and blue colors of the union flag. the changes are expected to be made on all its aircraft before September. Virgin will also create 2000 new jobs and will be used on its Shanghai route and on new routes to New York and Chicago.

If the BBC is right, their aircraft could look really good!!!! Will the body be the metallic body like AA's?? What do you think, VA?

That does not sound that great from your discription!! But I do expect it to look very good as Virgin are a very good company.
I like Virgin and I hope this livery is not fugly!!! I am also a bit comcerned about there 747 to the Virgin Islands I would not be surprised if that route is dropped soon as I can not imagen it making to much money. I think he should fly to Chicago, Auckland or Sydney (not under Malyasia)
But if the service is still the best who really cares if the planes look ugly but I do not think it will be.

Carribean Route bad?

Mon Mar 01, 1999 8:23 am

I don't think that these routes are bad. They are probably pretty lucrative. If British people want to go to the Carribean they only have BA or VA to choose from from England I believe.

There are more UK airlines flying to the Carribean:

Air 2000, Britannia, British Midland (?), Monarch, any more?

i guess i shouldn't cringe until i see the new livery for myself, but i've always loved the white and red with red engine cowlings, very classy! I'm tired of bare metal, i've seen enough of it on AA.

Virgin's New Livery.

I don't think that they should change the livery. They just updated it and the present one looks great with the read cowlings. Ugh more bare metal.

What are Virgins new routes to New York? When are they beginning a route to Chicago and what type of aircraft will they use?
