NZ Fares Australia - Germany

Tue Apr 17, 2007 9:50 am

Hello, I want to fly from Australia to Germany with Air NZ in Premium Eco via London.

I would assume that there exists an codeshare between NZ and LH (or BMI) for onward flights into Europe. But I could not get any serious information if it is possible to buy such a flight on ticket.

Can anybody help me and tell me if NZ sells tickets to Europe (DUS, CGN, HAJ, AMS) via LHR?

Wrong sorry.

There are many ways you can do this, but the one with an LH or BM transfer to LHR from FRA or virtually any airport in Germany is achievable.

Go to < www.airnewzealand.de > it's a step-by-step process and at the end, you'll find you're flying via LHR from and to Deutschland. You also get the option of stopping in Los Angeles or a Pacific Island and Kong Kong on the way.

These offers are unfortunately all only to New Zealand from Germany. But I want to fly the other way around and even starting Australia. On the New Zealand homepage of NZ you can book trips from NZ to germnay via London, but not on the Australian one.

For routings like that you are much better to contact a good travel agent.

I even wrote to mails to Air NZ's customer service centers and even they contradict each other.

The German office pretend to be quite well informed. They told me that I can't by Sydney to germnay via London on one NZ ticket. I should either by New Zealand - Germany an additional trans Tasman fare or I buy Sydney - London and an additional LH ticket to Germany.

And that was the reply from the Australien office:
"You can fly in Premium Economy with us to London, then connect with a code share flight with Lufthansa to cities within Germany. Please contact one of our travel consultants on 13 42 76 (Austrlai toll free 24 hours) to arrange a quote for you."

So not even Air NZ knows what they talk about...

So who is a ;good' travel agent...?

JoFMO, go to < www.airnewzealand.com.au > and book a SYD (or whatever Australian city) flight to LHR in Premium economy. Then go to the BM or LH site to do the rest.

Be careful booking tickets with bmi. They will not interline your bagage if you purchase two seperate tickets, even if the flight is operated by bmi themselves of another star carrier.

Just to let you know
Brian.
Next flights: MAN-ORK-LHR(EI)-MAN(BD); MAN-LHR(BD)-ORK (EI); DUB-ZRH-LAX (LX) LAX-YYZ (AC) YYZ-YHZ-LHR(AC)-DUB(BD)
