Very sorry , only in French , unable to get the info in English.

The end of the good old 727 (6V-AEF) built in 1975 is near.

Thanks to Saudi Arabia , to help purchasing this A319CJ for Senegal.

How long will we have to wait for the same deal with Cameroon , to replace 727 TJ-AAM built in 1978 ?

Hi!

I remember well Senegal 727-200!!! It was one of the first "exotic" airplanes I remember seeing in LIS back to 1978/79. "Le President" Leopold Senghor came to visit Portugal and Portugal's Foreign Affairs Minister Mario Soares was there to welcome him...splendid livery that senegalese 727. Also in a different occasion I also saw their Caravelle III 6V-AAR in LIS, again a very nice looking airplane.
I hope they paint this A319 with a nice livery!!!

Why are the Saudis helping with the purchase? Is it Oil related?

"Notre pays veut se payer un airbus A319 dans le cadre du financement global de l'Organisation du Sommet de la Conférence islamique (Oci)."
Translation: "Our country intends to buy an Airbus A319 with the financing from the Oci, Organisation of the Islamic conference summit."
A rich Muslim country helps a poor one. More influential than commercial.

Senegal is Muslim.

The Saudi's export their ideologies throughout the world by building mosques, paying off debts and funding orders.

They were going to pay for Morocco to get the F-16, then the Rafael (Neither happened)
