SAS 737-500s...in 2000?

Wed Apr 18, 2007 2:59 am

In looking through my July 2000 edition of OAG, I noticed a number of SK domestic flights within Norway and Sweden with 735 indicated as the equipment type. All had 3-digit non-codeshare flight numbers (no * symbol following the SK prefix) and, in many cases, replaced SK MD-80 or 736/73G/738 types on certain days of the week or in daily service at some point in time covered by the July 2000 edition. Also, there were no Braathens BU flights in Norway that coincided with the same departure arrival times on routes where BU and SK competed.

Since the only 737-500s included in the all-time fleet list of SAS were 12 acquired from Linjeflyg in 1993 and all were disposed of by May, 1995, and Braathens was not acquired by the SAS Group until 2002...

Whose 737-500s were operating regularly on some SAS routes within Norway and Sweden in July-August 2000?
