El Al Incident At CDG

Thu Apr 19, 2007 4:27 pm

I have searched for a topic talking about this but have not find one.

I have just been sent this pictures.

They say it was the Captain's last flight of his career and wanted to get back quickly to Tel Aviv.

He did not wait for the ramp crew to remove completely the tow bar to start moving.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.

There is a thread about it on PPRUNE with more pictures.

I'll bet that both the tug driver as well as the headset man needed fresh underwear fter this incident.
As for the damage to the aircraft, it seems to me that not only the intake cowl and the engine got damaged, but the pylon and the nole landing gear as well (unless the shear pins on the tow bar broke away as they should have).

I have not posted more pics because there are people on them.

If you see the one I have posted you will see there is no tow bar attached to the tug so I suppose it was already remove.

I know about this story.
This a/c had to leave for NYC after coming from Paris, and EL AL pushed off the flights with 19 hours delay until they have another flight.
All my toughts are in aviation!!!
