Balkan Holidays At LGW?

Fri Apr 20, 2007 10:21 am

What routes are Balkan Holidays operating from Gatwick this summer?

We've got a booking confirmation stating that we're flying to Varna with Balkan Holidays Air. But on the internet I can't seem to find any evidence of these flights existing... I can see Bulgaria Air flights on the route, but nothing from BH...

Can anyone shed any light on it?

There is a friday flight, arriving into LGW at 19:20, and departing at 20:30 as BGH5503/4.

The Gatwick website lists this under Charter Timetables:

Varna FRI 2030-1920 7&14 BGH5504 18/05-05/10 OLYMPIC-ODYSSEY HOLIDAYS
Varna FRI 2030-1930 7&14 - 04/05-12/10 BALKAN HOLIDAYS

However, when you try and book with Balkan Holidays it brings up this:

20 Jul 07 Gatwick / Varna FB 498 17:20 22:35
27 Jul 07 Varna / Gatwick FB 497 14:35 16:20

FB is the code for Bulgaria Air. I tried the Olympic Holidays website but that will only let you book Burgas. Seems it may well have been shifted to Bulgaria Air...

I just realised that you can view your booking on the Balkan Holidays website...

and when I logged in I realised we've been changed to the Bulgaria Air flights! So does the BGH flight still exist?

And does anyone know what I can expect from Bulgaria Air? Is it better or worse than BGH?

I think Balkan Holidays Air still exists, lots of other flights are still showing up as BGH. As for better or worse don't know?! Probably similar in erms of simple service. Will be a 737 as opposed to a TU154, which is good or bad depending on which way you look at it...

Jmc757,

Balkan Holidays switched from tu154 to A320 on Gatwick flights (so they claim), so I guess a flight switch from A320 to 737 isn't really any different...
