it says direct flights, so probably a one-stop somewhere in the US. Same with the UA flight to AMS which does LAX-IAD-AMS IIRC.

I wondering if it's the tag on leg of a MAN-US flight? For example, AA flight 55 is a MAN-ORD flight with an ORD-LAX flight also operating under AAL55.

This is more than likely the one stop service that US Airways offers. Don't know if it still runs but before the flight numbers changed US1597 use to run MAN-PHL-LAX but required a change of plane in PHL. IIRC the PHL-LAX leg was on an A321.

As has already been said must be a direct flight instead of a nonstop one. Don't think theres been a nonstop flight MAN-LAX since BA pulled their 763 off the route in the early 90s.

Best way to the West is either Mytravel or BMI to LAS and then see what you want to do. It is suprising that MAN can support four flights a week to LAS

Not particularly. The LAS flights are amongst those carrying people from all over the UK (perhaps except the SE), much like most of MAN's long hauls.

Last Thursday, I noticed one of AA's flights on the board at T3 as arriving from LAX. Can't remember whether it was 96 or 54.
