Two Air China Planes In New York At The Same Time

Tue Apr 24, 2007 11:51 am

Hello everyone!

I was spotting in JFK this past Sunday and saw two CA planes next to each other. At first I thought that maybe one of them arrived before the other one departed but then something strange happened. Both planes taxied to runway 13R and took off one right after the other. My question is the following, is there really a need for two 747s to be used in this way? I understand that New York has an enormous Chinese community, but does it really warrant CA to use two 747s on this route and having one depart right after the other (literally)?

Leo.
A mile of runway takes you to the world. A mile of highway takes you a mile.

There was a high ranking Chinese government official in Cuba this past weekend. They may have used JFK as a refuling stop.

1316 miles...as the crow flies.
Tired of airline bankruptcies....EA/PA/TW and finally DL.
