Oasis: Fleet Target Of 25 By 2011, Orders Planned

Wed Apr 25, 2007 3:16 pm

Summary of a longer article (in German):

- development far better than planned, overall loads at 82-83%, Economy a whooping 98%
- fleet target of 25 widebodies by 2011 once again confirmed
- first target used widebodies
- new frames on the agenda, order till 2009 planned as current prices are seen as too high
- considered are planes such as B777, B787, A340 (please note: such as just means planes in this size-class, it clearly does NOT give any indication about their preference)

----------
Shows that Oasis appears to be on the right way. I maintain what I said months ago: they are fast becoming a potential customer for the A380.

Curious though that the 747-8I isn't under consideration for them. It could make integration into their existing 744 fleet a bit easier.

Clearly, they are just in the beginning stages of formalizing their RFP. I would expect all candidates from 787 on up to be considered at this point in time.

Be interesting to see how they cope with a downturn (Oasis was started during a period of airline prosperity and growth)

very unlikely, but things changes everyday tho.

O8 currently hv 3x 744 from ANA on order, and to my knowledge, we will see another of 5x used 744 ordered by them very soon.

When might one reasonably expect announcements of new routes from Oasis Hong Kong?

Very unlikely that Oasis will order the 747-8, or very unlikely that they said they would order the 747-8? Oasis did say they would likely order new-build 747 which can only be 747-8I. Is there any particular reason you feel they are "very likely" to not do so in the future?

accroding to O8's plan, the money for "new built" a/c are coming from listing the company on stock market. but the project has been put on hold (for an unknown period of time). so before they get their public listing project sorted out, they won't be ordering new a/c. they simply doesn't hv the money right now.

Exactly. This moment, 100% a NO. but who knows about the future?
