Quick Question On UA Reservations

Tue May 01, 2007 7:03 am

I am on hold with UA as we speak, and wanted to know what the rules are for canceling only one segment of my trip is. For example, my routing is LAX-SFO-ORD-BDL and wanted to get rid of the ORD-BDL portion so I can collect my bags at ORD and leave. Am I able to do this?

Nope. You aren't allowed to do that. If you can't carry on all your bags, you're out of luck. If you can carry them on and there are no more segments on this ticket, you can just get off in ORD. If you still have a return, you're going to have to go all the way to BDL or the return will be canceled.

You can cancel it with UA res but they will then re-price your whole itinerary and it may cost you a lot more than just the change fee.
