AN-22 In AMS Today?

Wed May 02, 2007 5:55 pm

I've read in another post that probably today an AN-22 is arriving in AMS so I would like to know if somebody knows more about cos if it is true than I would like to drive out to see the aircraft! Apparently this An-22 was in Fuerteventure before!
Would like to know when the aircraft will arrive here in AMS.

according to Scramble and http://www.luchtverkeersleiding.nl/baan_verwacht.html it will be the wellknown runway 06, with the spotters area, also called Kaagbaan. It is southwest close to the terminal and in between the two cargo terminals, near the village Rozenburg.

I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures coming up as the spotters area was just overcrowded when she arrived!
She made a very smooth landing on rwy 06 and was really HUGE!!!!!!!
What a masterpiece of operational aviation heritage! She is a beautyqueen of uglyness  Smile

Quoting Crownvic (Reply 7):

I just uploaded two clips I made of the landing and taxiing on youtube... They are shaky with my small cheap camera. Background sound is a bit annoying, but I can recommend to keep the speakers open for the sound of the Antonov during touchdown.

Not sure if they work yet, I go to bed now and sorry if they don't.

Thank you for the great video...What a crowd on hand too! Is that a normal turnout for that viewing area, or was it busier because of the AN-22 arrival???
