Weird UA Flight To PDX

Thu May 03, 2007 12:28 pm

I just noticed on flypdx.com that United has a flt 9974 from SNA due into PDX. Does anyone know if this is a positioning flight or a charter? Just curious to know

Probably a repositioning flight, perhaps there's an a/c out of service in PDX, and there happened to be a spare in SNA.

That airplane (N437UA) was ferried earlier Wednesday SEA-BFI to pick up the Chicago White Sox. They then flew down to SNA. The White Sox start a series with the Angels on Friday. I believe it was just an aircraft repositioning SNA-PDX since it's is due to fly to ORD Thursday morning.
