TWA Convair 880 Artwork, STL?

Thu May 03, 2007 12:30 pm

I just picked up this model of a TWA Convair 880. The art on the box looks a lot like STL, before some additions. Is it STL?. I was barely alive in the Convair 880 era and my family did not live in St. Louis then. The plane shown on the box art is N815TW, which was a TWA 880.

I would say that it is safe to say that this is the old STL...Remember, the model manufacturer and the similarity with the STL name are quite apparent. The TWA 880 was a common a/c at STL in the 60's and the terminal in the artwork is similar to the old STL.

Yup...it's STL...C concourse must've been built after that was printed or someone did thier homework and rolled it back to fit the era. A, B, and D are all there though, and the terminal is unmistakable. Nice find!
