Boeing Order Update For 2007/05/03

Fri May 04, 2007 1:21 am

Boeing outted the four Copa 737s (previously listed as UFOs), added two 737BBJs, and 49(!) UFO 737s.

See http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm.

Well, it is not a single order.

And I quote:

Good catch. Does anyone recall what the language was used in reference to the 30 UFO 787s? Did it say "customer" or "customers?"

Maybe 25 or so of the 49 will turn out to be a US 739ER order? Maybe wishful thinking, but that would be nice to see.

I think they are referring to the BBJs as well?!?!
Although 49 is an odd number to order!!

Narrowbodies picking up a bit. Good to see they've past the 300 mark. Clearly, there is a bit of a slowdown, not too unexpected after the last two years.

315 orders after four months.

At this pace, they'd be close to yet another 1000-order year!  Wow!

What slowdown? 315 for the first four months is on course for well over 1000 for the year since December is nearly always the strongest sales month. Boeing have sold far more widebodies so far this year than they did in the first four months of any previous year. This could be a record year for Boeing both in terms of units and value.

They no longer offer the -300 as a new build. Last n/b 737-300 was to NZ on 12/99.

-600
-700
-800
-900
-900ER

Are only offered.

Quoting DAYflyer (Reply 16):
I would speculate it is for AA and WN.

AA will not order new build as they have (50) 737-800's still on the books to be delivered from orders dating 1996-2001.
AA announced that they will take (47) 737-800 aircraft under a previously existing purchase commitment. Bumping up from 2013-16 to 2009-12 timeframe.

http://www.aa.com/content/amrcorp/pr...ssReleases/2007_03/28_boeing.jhtml

AA is thinking 777/787 order.

As for the breakdown of the UFO 737's:

Unidentified Customer Unidentified Unidentified 737-700 CF 13-Nov-2006 2
Unidentified Customer Unidentified Unidentified 737-700 CF 30-Nov-2006 1
Unidentified Customer Unidentified Unidentified 737-700 CF 27-Mar-2007 2
Unidentified Customer Unidentified Unidentified 737-700 CF 29-Mar-2007 5
Unidentified Customer Unidentified Unidentified 737-700 CF 30-Mar-2007 15
Unidentified Customer Unidentified Unidentified 737-800 CF 03-Nov-2006 1
Unidentified Customer Unidentified Unidentified 737-800 CF 15-Nov-2006 10
Unidentified Customer Unidentified Unidentified 737-800 CF 31-Dec-2006 3
Unidentified Customer Unidentified Unidentified 737-800 CF 31-Jan-2007 1

Maybe Mar30th for WN? Then again their last order was for (1) single 737-7 in late Sept06.

Possibly 7 of them are, but that's it. The remaining frames should come from a conversion of GA's current backlog of 18 737-700's.

No. This order was booked November 15, 2006 as unidentified.

It's not. But Boeing will not show it on the frontpage, as that only deals with 2007 orders. As S7's order was in 2006, it will not appear on the frontpage, but rather show up when one does a search.

It's a discrepancy on Boeing's website. The 737-900ER is now the production standard for the -900 type and you can no longer order an "original" -900.

You won't see it until the May update. The initial order might have been for a non-specific model and they might have more recently chosen the specific one.

At the end of next week the whole order and deliveries website of Boeing will be updated, as they do once a month only. Only at that time all identified UFOs will be shown with name and plane. The front page is the only page that's updated weekly. Have a little patience!

I read a news release on Boeing's homepage about 10 additional 748F for Cargolux or UPS and checked the O&D update for those and found none. When I went back to the news releases, it was no longer there. I meant to post it here yesterday, but was sidetracked by more interesting matters.  Wink What gives?  Confused

so there are now 57 787s as unidentified orders according to Wikipedia. Reading through some of your postings I guess

11 are for TUI

2 are for a Leasing company

8 are for EI

30 are for QR or AA because it seems to be the 788 (by the way is that now confirmed 1 customer and the 788??) I guess 30 is too many for US unless they want to expand and do not need the higher capacity of their A333s in the future and cancel the A332 order. LH, AF/KLM would probably order 789s to replace their A343s.

and 6 are for??? some smaller airlines or some options from previous customers?
