New Continental route

Tue Mar 02, 1999 4:11 am

Many of you probably know this, but for those who don't...

Continental Airlines announced a new international route on Thursday Feb. 25 between London Gatwick and Cleveland effective June 30, 1999. Continental flight 66 will depart Cleveland Hopkins International Airport at 5:20 p.m. and arrive at London’s Gatwick Airport at 5:55 a.m. the next day. Continental flight 67 will depart London at 10:55 a.m. and arrive at Hopkins Airport at 2:45 p.m. Continental will operate the service with Boeing 757 aircraft which seats 16 passengers in BusinessFirst and 156 passengers in coach.

Cheers,
Markus

I read somewhere, maybe an older press report, that Continental is planning to shift the DC-10 to the CLE-London route as soon as they get enough 777s to cover whatever route that the shifter -10 is currently on. However, the 757 is perfectly capable of a CLE-London run, though that's about as far as I've ever seen an airline dare to take one.
