WN's 737 Closet?

Wed May 16, 2007 10:14 am

Is there up front storage in WN's 737 closet for hanging clothes, like a wedding dress that we have to take to LAS.

Thanks.

Think your SOL bud. WN doesn't have closets from what I recall through years of Texas two-stepping and chartering with football teams. Small galleys and 2 Lavs amongst 137 seats for mostly paying souls in coach. Your closet is recognized in a little additional leg space for you and your fellow travelers.

Lots of people from WN are on the boards here, they'll be able to confirm.

Sorry, there's no closet forward. There is one aft, but it's not for passenger use.

When I got married (out of state), we took her dress along in a box that would fit in the overhead bin, and had it touched up wrinkle-wise once we got there. Maybe that will work for you as well... Good luck!

The Cockpit has near the 2nd observers seat to the left aft corner, a small space where Crew hang their Blazers.

I miss the old 'lounge' seats on WN as well. I always seemed to meet interesting people every time I sat in one of those six seats facing each other.

Since 9/11 this is off limits to anyone not riding in the cockpit, or a F/A working the flight.

I would still ask the crew anyway. If the load is light enough, WN does seem to have pretty understanding employees, and they may be able to find room for your dress where it won't get all wrinkled up. But, if they can't help you, then it is probably best to pack it in a carry on in such a way as to minimize wrinkles, although it could require a touch-up after the flight.

Yeah? Try sitting in the middle seat, facing backwards, with 5 very large men taking up my elbow room and leg room for a flight from PHX-BWI...Oh yeah, my computer battery died about 30 mins into flight and I forgot to buy a newspaper, so I got to sit and stare at the person directly in front of me for about 4 hours...That was fun...So, in those situations, I do not miss the "lounge"

Most airlines I have been on require you to be a business or first class customer for use of the closets. There have been some crews accommodating, some not. Knowing WN employees, they would probably let you use an empty seat, if one is available.

Maybe be prepared to pack it once in the boarding area hoping there is an empty seat. You might call reservations and tell them your situation. Maybe someone could give you a heads-up on here that has the insight between MCI-LAS if you give them your dates of travel?

Again, WN employees have always been awesome. I can't say enough about good experiences on WN.

Have a great flight!

Thanks, I will call them when it gets a bit closer. We are flying out on July 4th so I hope it is a light flight so it won't be a problem.

It is not allowed and you would be asking the crew to violate procedures. Besides it would get more wrinkled trying to put it into that narrow area, remember it is only designed to hold 3 coats.

Definitely not allowed in the States....zippo..nada....no pax items into the Flight Deck. And no closets on single class low cost carriers either....that's taking up seat space!

The few times that I have flown WN that was the part I liked most. I met some really cool people once DTW-STL and we all had a blast drinking beer and carrying on.

I've also found that to be the best part of flying WN...Esp. on flights to LAS...Generally speaking, everyone on the plane is having a good time, drinking beers, etc. I've been on flights when people deplete 3 books of coupons by buying everyone drinks that are sitting around them...
