Blair's Flight To Andrews

Thu May 17, 2007 10:21 pm

I gather our Prime Minister, Mr Blair, crossed the pond for his latest sit-down with W at the White House in this little beauty.

It's a BBJ operated by the royal Amiri Flight of Abu Dhabi. This has got to be sweetest way for any big cheese to travel. Does anyone know anything about the Amiri Flight or this plane. Does it do charter ops - or is it royals (and their guests) only?

Royal Jet is not part of the Amiri Flight but a charter operator based in AUH.

Actually in answering your question led me to have another look at Royal Jet and it is owned by the Amiri Royal Flight and Abu Dhabi Aviation on a 50/50% basis.

Abu Dhabi Aviation operates fixed and rotor aircraft supporting oil exploration and is partly owned by the Abu Dhabi government who obviously own the Amiri Flight.

I am not sure if the senior members of the Royal familys aircraft would be offered for charter but the BBJ in question was at one point in the Amiri Flight livery.

Is it cheaper than a BA 767/777?

Did he fly into ADW on this visit? I believe this is a private visit, not a state visit, hence not charterting a 777 from BA.

Would a new "Brown Force One" ever "fly"?

Why do you assume that is the plane he flew in on? Flightaware doesnt show anything to that effect

But surely Flightaware doesn't show all flights?
