Delta Pink 757 @ Jsoh @ Andrews

Tue May 22, 2007 2:33 am

I was at the Joint Services Open House on Sunday and was very surprised to see the Delta Breast Cancer Awareness 757 parked on the ramp! It was open for cabin tours, but I've been on plenty of 757's  Smile

My questions:

1) According to the AFB regs for the airshow, aircraft had to arrive by Wednesday May 16 @ 6:00PM (assigned arrival slot was probably earlier), and could not depart until Monday May 21. With scheduling and positioning, that's almost 5 days of this aircraft being out of revenue service. I am assuming that the pilots and ground staff are donating their time. Based on the Delta culture, I can understand thier willingness to promote the cause, however the financial impact must be significant ?

2) Is it common for regular commercial aircraft to appear at military airshows?

Not that it changes the gist of your questions, but (despite the published movement limitations) the plane didn't arrive at ADW until 5:03PM on Thursday (as DAL9901). It departed Sunday at 6:34 PM as DAL9900.

Are they going to repaint the Delta title so it looks more like the "new" DL. Not the color, just the font

Delta sent this beautiful bird to our area (Fayette County GA) a few weeks ago to show sponsorship for the local American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event. Fayette County is home to hundreds of DL employees and the fact that they sent this plane for two fly-by's was absolutely amazing! Kudos to DL for this gesture as we raised $500K alone in our County. Sponsors like this for such a great cause always win my business!
Landing on every Continent almost on an annual basis!

Quoting BWI757 (Thread starter):

I was a pax on DL #1407 on Wednesday May 16 SLC-PHX arriving at 1145 PDT, it was then going onto ATL.
