Mmm... Flight 767 is an outbound flight, back to LHR (Media!)

Inbounds are BA0762, 0766, 0768, 0770, all A320 series (morning flights are 320, afternoon are 319)

BA0767 is scheduled to be an A320

The initial information was that 28 pax were ill on the flight to Olso. however according to NRK and other sources here it seems that only four members of the same family had contracted an acute gastroenteritis possibly from contaminated food they ate in Burma..

According to the news where all the passengers held in the plane for 3 hours until they where allowed to leave. A total of 4 persons where repported sick. Those for together with 24 others, all coming from Burma, apparently as immigrants, have been taken to further examination and quarrantine.

BA767 is scheduled as a 320 and has a scheduled departure from OSL at 1700 hours local. The incoming flight for that aircraft is BA766 scheduled to depart LHR at 1245 local and arrive at OSL 1555 local.

The passemgers from Burma (or more correctly Myanmar since its 1989 name change) almost certainly arrived at LHR from BKK on BA7311, a code share QF flight. The BA metal flight from BKK (BA010) arrives 40 minutes before the QF flight. This is in time to connect with BA's earlier flight to OSL (BA762).

Plane was parked far from the terminal, and buses with the vents taped shut pulled up to the plane. They were worried it could be avian flu.

I have been involved with the medical authorities from Finland to South Africa and from Iceland to India. My experience is that the authorities in the Nordic countries always reacted more quickly and more decisively in the face of an unknown threat particularly if it was potentially viral in origin. Indeed in its early days the business that I was involved in benefitted quite substantially from their approach and attitude to such potential situations.

My guess is that they aren't afraid of lawsuits from passengers who were "trapped" in the plane.

The video showed the flight was indeed an A319.

20 people with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea? That has to be pleasant on an A/C with a small number of lavatories.

Cheers

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.

The symptoms don't sound very flu like

C'mon everyone, I think with recent events with Polonium or whatever radioactive material that was used to kill Litvenenko, found on BA jets, I think the Norwegians are taking appropriate action. I don't think any lawsuits will win.

You are right, and if you tried the court will tell you to p**s off as the system doesn't work that way in Norway (or most other European countries)

From a medical standpoint, totally bizarre! Haz-mat suits? With no eye protection? That will keep 'em healthy!

Get the sick ones to a hospital, if necessary, isolate the remaining group for 24hrs, disinfect the aircraft, pour a ton of bleach (sodium hypochlorite solution) into the toilets and sinks, and it's over.
